Picton, New Zealand

Here’s what we did in Picton, NZ!

Travel Dates:  11 Nov 2014

Transportation:  You have to take a cruise shuttle from the port into the town.  The town is very small and walkable.

Itinerary:  We decided to hike the Queen Charlotte Track.  You’ll see it on your map.  It’s about a 10 minute walk from the town.  The trail starts at a small boat harbor (not for the cruise ship, but for personal sized boats).  There are a few trails that take you to the top, we just guessed and we were right!  It’s about 1.5 hour hike to the Queen Charlotte Lookout.  Very beautiful views of the bay.  We jogged back down in about 30 minutes.

Afterwards, we took a walk through the town.  It’s really only about 3 blocks long by 2 blocks wide.  We used free wifi at the library and stopped in a few convenience stores.  Quaint town, but not too much to see.

Other options we saw were sea kayaking, scuba, or a wine tour.
